We were deeply moved by Gerry's story because it truly demonstrates how this great game touches so many of us, so deeply. After losing his sight in his twenties to diabetes, Gerry had no idea what to do, and thought his life was over. Now the Western Canadian Blind Golf Champion, he enjoys the game, and his life, more than ever. As a blind golfer, Gerry has the unique opportunity to have his son on the course for every round, and he refers to sharing his love of the game with his son as one of the great joys in his life. One of his most memorable moments was playing with Lee Trevino, who referred to Gerry as unforgettable and inspiring.
We found him inspiring too. That's Gerry's story. What's yours?
